Removing the Consumer Input Software:

You can opt-out of the Compete research panel at any time by removing the Software from your system.

If you are not able to quickly and easily remove the software, we can and will help you if you ask. If you have any questions regarding removal or opting-out, please contact us at privacy@compete.com or (888) 744-6028 or (617) 933-5699.

Please follow the below instructions to remove the software.

Microsoft Internet Explorer:

Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8:

  1. From the Windows control panel, select "Uninstall a program".
  2. Select the "Consumer Input Software" entry.
  3. Double click the entry or press the "Uninstall" button.
  4. Select the "Yes" button from the dialog that appears.

Windows XP and earlier:

  1. From the Windows control panel, select "Add / Remove Programs".
  2. Select the "Consumer Input Software" entry.
  3. Select the "Remove" button.
  4. Select the "Uninstall" button from the dialog that appears.

Mozilla Firefox:

Current Versions (4.X or later):

  1. From the Firefox menu, select "Add-ons".
  2. From the Add-ons/Extensions menu, find the "Consumer Input" entry.
  3. Select the "Remove" button.
  4. Restart Firefox.

Version 3.6 and earlier:

  1. From the Firefox "Tools" menu, select "Add-ons".
  2. From the Add-ons menu, select the "Consumer Input Software" entry.
  3. Select the "Uninstall" button.
  4. Select the "Uninstall" button again to verify.
  5. Restart Firefox.

The Software will be completely removed the next time Firefox is restarted.


Chrome:

  1. From the Chrome window, click on the options button (the "triple dots" icon on the top right)
  2. Select "More tools" and then select "Extensions".
  3. Click the trash icon next to the listing for the Consumer Input extension.
  4. Click "Remove" to remove the extension.
